Terry and I have had a very busy weekend, preparing for our little Sweet Pea. Yesterday, we attended the Baby Expo at Earl's Court, where EVERYTHING baby was on offer.
We were very pleased to find our Nursery Furniture, after the drama we experienced a couple of weeks ago... We had ordered a beautiful sleigh crib and chest of drawers from Boori. We were told that the furniture was flat-packed, as knew our stairs would pose a problem... after waiting 4wks for delivery, found that the chest of drawers was not flat-packed and therefore did not fit up the staircase to the baby's room... Ah, the joys of living in a city! The furniture that we ordered at the Expo yesterday will be with us in 5-6wks... luckily, one of our dear friends, is making Sweet Pea a bassinet covered with Embroidery Anglaise. We can't wait to receive... and will definitely post pictures on the blog for all to see.
We've also made the decision of using both reusable baby wipes and nappies (a.k.a. diapers) made from sustainable bamboo, which is promoted as the new hero/miracle fibre for babies. We find it truly amazing what there is on offer and how technology has influenced everything baby.
Good news, the Birthing Pool was delivered last week and Terry couldn't wait to set it up. It's been built, but we've yet to add water... We are wanting to thoroughly clean the Summer House before adding the water, which I'll be doing this week, as it's my first week off of work! YAY!!! I'm so happy to be starting my Maternity Leave and am looking forward to getting everything organized for Sweet Pea's arrival along with the upcoming visits from Mom and Dad and Liz and Clan... Also, have started meeting some girls from my Pre-Natal classes, who are all due around the same time, at our local Bumps & Babies group. It's really great to have this support on such a local level... and most of the girls are around the same age as I am... and also experiencing their first pregnancy.
With more time on my hands, I will be taking pictures of our progress with regards to the Birthing Pool and setting up everything for our little miracle's arrival. Will also see if I can post some flattering (if that's possible!) bump pictures as well.
