As promised, an update on my 41wk appointment today... I met with the Dr who was insistent on scheduling my induction first, wanting the process to start on Friday. I asked if there was any way of postponing till Monday, the 21st November. She was hesitant, but as long as I promised to keep a close tab on the baby's movements, she agreed. My blood pressure was good, no protein showing in my urine, and the baby's heartbeat was excellent.
**WARNING - This might be TMI for some!**
The Dr then did a DEEP sweep, to hopefully get things started. She was able to feel the baby's head, which the baby responded by wiggling all about. She recommended that I go to the Birthing Centre to have a follow-up sweep on Wednesday and possibly again on Friday. I called my Midwife to give her an update and she felt all sounded good and was happy that I asked for the induction date to be pushed back. As we really want to have a Home Birth, we've decided to be proactive and go for another sweep tomorrow. Although extremely uncomfortable, we feel this is a much better option to help bring on the labor, so I won't have to be induced.
